Bicycling up big hills is an interesting phenomenon. You get endorphins when you go up, and you get an adrenaline rush when you go down—a powerful combination. Sometimes you do your best thinking while climbing. Other times, you get into a sort of hypnosis, and once you’re at the top, you have a hard time recalling the experience.

I have climbed OLH about 50 times. Compared to others, that statistic is not impressive, but it’s one of my favorite hills. I feel like I know all the turns and where the cracks in the road are. There are many other hills like this. Viewing the elevation profiles of the hills from different perspectives provides a greater appreciation—they can be quite beautiful.

Recently, I started exporting some of the graphics and organizing them into collections for each of the hills. You can find them here.
